Overview

Our Client

Our client is a very high end fine Jewelry brand with their US headquarters in NYC.

Objective

Help increase stores profit potential. Analyze risks and opportunities of stores inventories and propose inventory allocations. Provide data and valuable insights to help attain or surpass company’s targets.

In this role, you will be reporting functionally to the Head of Merchandising in London and locally to the US CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute merchandising strategies
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports for product ordering, production and allocation
  • Generate proposals on selection, allocation and merchandise orders for stores based on merchandise plan, sales trends and merchandise availability
  • Identify areas that need attention and provide relevant analysis
  • Product recommendation for new store openings, events etc. based on the analysis of the location profile
  • Forecast opportunities for each store location taking into account performance history
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate concerns
  • Communicate product knowledge to stores on a permanent basis
  • Communicate with sales staff/stores to manage current and future needs and to create opportunities
  • Analyze and monitor competition and report to management on findings about competitors activities and initiatives
  • Assist with administrative inventory control activities (domestic and international shipping; inventory; data entries and updates; digital imaging; card organization according to stock movement and sales)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising/Business
  • Demonstrated understanding of high end retail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills
  • Effective at time management and organizational skills
  • Must be detailed oriented, organized and flexible
  • Strong inter-personal skills and decision making capabilities
  • Able to accurately analyze historical data and forecast emerging trends
  • Excellent PC skills (Excel a must)
  • GIA graduate a plus
  • Appreciated previous experience: Boucheron, Buccellati, Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, FRED, Graff, Harry Winston,  Mikimoto, Piaget, Tiffany, Van Cleef & Arpels
  • Appreciated previous titles: Demand Planning Analyst, Merchandising Analyst
