Our Client

Our client for this opportunity is a Tobacco / Premium Cigar company with a network of cigar stores and smoking lounges in the US.

Job Description

  • Negotiate, select, implement, and sell merchandise programs and products to maximize sales and profits
  • Plan and achieve annual category financial objectives
  • Create advertising plans with upper management  that will achieve category and department retail and coop sales and margin sales
  • Evaluate wholesale and retail competitors’ products, prices and strategies
  • Respond to and ensure that store inquiries and problems are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Communicate and set expectations for new and existing products, programs and pricing
  • Establish productive and collaborative working relationships with the wholesale partner to achieve turn over and fill rates goals
  • Collaborate with internal support functions (e.g. logistics, distribution, marketing, inventory management, etc.) to successfully execute merchandising programs
  • Oversee the implementation of new skus and new vendors for their categories
  • Maintain productive vendor relationships and resolve vendor supply chain issues
  • Maintain up to date vendor records and required agreements
  • Visit manufacturers as needed to better understand their products, programs, capabilities, and opportunities

 

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years previous related experience
  • Previous merchandising, retail, supply chain or wholesale experience required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Very proficient with MS Excel and MS Office in general
  • Appreciated previous experience: Luxury Goods, Luxury Products, Watches, Jewelry, Wines, Spirits, Liquors, Tobacco, Cigars
  • Appreciated previous titles: Buyer, Purchaser, Buying Manager, Purchasing Manager, Merchant
