Objective of the Role

The Key Account Manager for the New York City area will be instrumental in fostering and enhancing the company’s relationships with a select group of key accounts. Tasked with both maintaining and expanding these crucial partnerships, the role is pivotal in ensuring the sustained growth and presence of our client’s brand and products within the region. The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison, championing the interests of both the company and its partners, and facilitating seamless communication and cooperation across various internal and international teams.

Ideal Profile

Our client seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking Key Account Manager, passionate about denim and equipped with substantial knowledge of denim fabric. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • A deep-seated passion for denim, coupled with technical expertise in denim fabric.
  • A solid background in textiles, apparel & fashion, or denim retail, with at least five years of proven success in key account management or sales within the textile industry.
  • Comprehensive familiarity with the US market and a broad professional network.
  • Residency in New York, with native proficiency in the region’s culture and fluency in business English.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, alongside compelling presentation abilities.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, strategic mindset, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Problem-solving prowess, process management skills with a detail-oriented approach, and the willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivating trusted advisor relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Engaging closely with key business executives to establish and nurture robust, enduring partnerships.
  • Acting as a bridge between partners and our client’s cross-functional and international teams to optimize collaboration and support.
  • Identifying and capitalizing on opportunities within the territory to collaborate with sales teams, aiming for growth attainment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field.
  • Demonstrable passion for and knowledge of denim.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in key account management or sales, preferably within the textile industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of the US market and a wide-reaching professional network.
  • Residency in New York, with native cultural understanding and fluency in business English.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strategic thinking.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and process management ability.
  • Availability for national and international travel.
