Our client is an established private beauty company situated in Chandler, AZ (Phoenix area), specializing in nailcare and skincare. Already in the eight digits sales figure, the company has consistently achieved a growth rate of 30-40% annually. Their products are distributed through a DTC website, Amazon, and a network of high-end beauty salons, spas and resorts.

Objective of the Role

The Sr. Director of Professional Sales will spearhead the growth and development of the Spa and Resorts channels. This role is pivotal in driving revenue, establishing strategic partnerships, and leading a high-performing sales team. The successful candidate will develop and execute sales strategies, optimize sales processes, and ensure the company’s products are prominently featured and utilized in top-tier spas and resorts.

Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in the professional beauty and spa industry, with a proven track record in sales management, strategic planning, and team leadership. They will possess a deep understanding of market trends and competitive landscapes, coupled with strong analytical skills. A customer-centric mindset, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to inspire and mentor a sales team are essential. A BA in Business or Finance is required, and an MBA is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets, ensuring alignment with market insights and company objectives.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key spa and resort partners, distributors, and other stakeholders to maximize brand exposure and growth opportunities.
  • Analytics and Forecasting: Oversee the sales forecasting process, analyze market trends, and provide regular performance reports to company leadership.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, organize, and mentor the sales team, including direct reports responsible for Spa Sales, Sales Ops Analytics, Education, and Events Trade Show Consulting.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure high in-stock rates by collaborating closely with the production planning team and streamline contract management processes.
  • Market Expansion: Actively manage and expand the Amazon channel and identify new beauty channels, as appropriate.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain a customer-centric approach, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction for all partners and clients.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in the professional beauty and spa industry with a strong track record in sales management.
  • Proven ability in strategic business planning, execution, and growth.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Deep understanding of sales processes and strategies in the beauty industry.
  • Customer-centric mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance; MBA is a plus.
  • Passion for the beauty industry and a strategic thinker with a fun, energetic personality.
