Our client is a recent jewelry brand that has successfully established itself in Mexico by melding cultural heritage with contemporary luxury. The brand works closely with local artisan communities to create exquisite pieces that celebrate traditional Mexican craftsmanship, positioning itself in the “affordable luxury” segment. Founded with strong investor backing and having demonstrated impressive growth in Mexico, the company’s original investors are now increasing their commitment to fuel expansion into the US market.
Objective of the Role
The CEO will spearhead the company’s expansion into the US market while maintaining its strong Mexican artisanal foundation. They will be responsible for executing a comprehensive US market entry strategy and scaling operations while preserving the brand’s cultural integrity, effectively deploying new growth capital to establish a strong presence in the US luxury market.
Ideal Profile
An experienced luxury goods leader with proven success in scaling international brands in the US market. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with cultural sensitivity, capable of building a US-based operation while maintaining strong relationships with Mexican artisan communities and existing investors.
Responsibilities
- Execute US market entry strategy and establish necessary operational infrastructure
- Develop omnichannel retail presence in the US while maintaining brand positioning
- Manage relationships with existing investors and deploy growth capital effectively
- Preserve and strengthen relationships with Mexican artisan communities
- Drive operational excellence across US and Mexican operations
- Build and lead high-performing teams in both markets
- Ensure sustainable growth while maintaining the brand’s affordable luxury positioning
Requirements
- 10+ years in luxury goods, with 8+ years in senior leadership
- Proven success scaling international brands in the US market
- Experience managing investor relationships and growth capital deployment
- Strong understanding of US luxury market and omnichannel retail
- Demonstrated ability to work with traditional crafting communities
- Fluent English required; Spanish preferred
- International experience, particularly in US-Mexico operations
- MBA or equivalent preferred
- Ability to travel frequently between US and Mexico
