Our client is a fast-growing fine jewelry house specializing in sustainably created, lab-grown diamonds and bespoke craftsmanship, including the ability to cut diamonds to individual specification. The company operates approximately ten appointment-based showrooms across the United States, Canada, and Europe, complemented by a dedicated virtual sales team. It pairs a modern, customization-led luxury client experience with an analytical, data-driven retail culture. Headquartered in New York, the business is entering its next phase of growth, with retail expansion and omnichannel development as central priorities.

Objective of the Role

Our client is seeking a Global Vice President of Retail Sales to own commercial performance across its retail and virtual sales channels. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive will lead revenue growth, client development, and luxury experience excellence across the showroom network. The role combines strategic leadership with close operational engagement, shaping the future of omnichannel retail while guiding regional leadership and store teams toward ambitious sales and productivity targets.

Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate brings multi-location retail leadership experience within fine jewelry, diamonds, or the broader luxury sector, having held regional or multi-store responsibilities that remain close to day-to-day store operations. The profile is highly analytical, commercially astute, and comfortable instilling clienteling discipline and CRM rigor. Experience confined to mall-based, mass-market retailers is not aligned with this position.

Responsibilities

  • Own annual and quarterly sales targets across the showroom network and virtual sales team.
  • Drive comparable store sales, conversion, average transaction value, client retention, and store productivity.
  • Lead and coach regional and store leadership, building a high-performance luxury sales culture.
  • Strengthen clienteling, appointment selling, and CRM-led client development to grow lifetime client value.
  • Partner with E-commerce, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Merchandising to integrate online and showroom experiences.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year commercial strategy, including new store openings and white-space opportunities.
  • Manage budgets, labor productivity, and profitability, and oversee forecasting aligned with inventory planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of multi-unit retail leadership experience in fine jewelry, diamonds, or luxury retail.
  • Demonstrated success growing revenue and retail productivity across multiple markets.
  • Strong understanding of “love and engagement” and high-touch luxury selling environments.
  • Highly analytical, with sound business and financial acumen.
  • Experience within omnichannel or e-commerce-enabled retail organizations preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and operational management skills.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the New York City area, with availability for regular travel to store locations.
