Our Client

Our client for this Compliance Manager position is a Forex trading MLM that offers various trading educational products and services to a global audience. They appear in over 120 countries and have training available in 8 major languages. As their customer base is rapidly growing, presenting new challenges, they are currently looking for a personable but firm and assertive individual to head their super dedicated Customer Support team. Additionally, as they have structure their distribution around the principle of Network Marketing aka Direct Sales aka multi level marketing.

Objective

The compliance department plays a central and very important role in managing the adherence to and enforcement of compliance with respect to internal rules at IM Academy and regulations from several government and regulatory agencies. You will lead and support day to day compliance operations and surveillance initiatives.

Job Description

  • Lead the company’s compliance efforts by designing, implementing, documenting, and updating internal controls, policies, and procedures to assure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Work with management and staff to research, identify and manage compliance risk ensuring the company has internal controls that adequately measure and manage the risks it faces
  • Manage investigations into regulatory and compliance issues
  • Damage control – work with management and teams to ensure there are procedures and guidelines in place on how to respond to a possible compliance breach
  • Design and implement appropriate disciplinary measures to avoid a future recurrence
  • Educate field on compliance issues and best practices
  • Train teams; create and distribute compliance policy and procedure manuals
  • Provide advice on rules and regulations in real time
  • Develop and implement programs to remove trademark infringement in improper claims found on the Internet
  • Ensure continual monitoring and review of compliance procedures including internal audits to help identify possible areas where improvement could be made
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries
  • Maintain genealogy tree structure
  • Review compensation plan with management on an annual basis

Requirements

  • 8-10 years compliance experience in MLM/direct sales industry
  • Understanding of MLM model, genealogy tree structure, compensation plan structure
  • Advanced knowledge of FTC/FDA/DSSRC regulations as well as the regulatory issues specific to MLM industry
  • Experience and comfortable working with field leaders and representatives
  • Deep understanding of MLM lingo and principles
  • Ability to teach and lead a team of analysts
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information, interact and respond to inquiries when necessary including communication with regulatory bodies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous entrepreneurial environment
  • Positive attitude
  • Law degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required
  • Knowledge of Spanish preferred
  • Appreciated previous titles: Head of Customer Support, Head of Customer Services, Customer Service Director, Customer Services Manager
