Our Client

Our client for this career opportunity is the Travel Retail and Latin America office of a very important Group in the beauty, fragrances and cosmetics industry

Objective

To define and create the countries’ retail design & merchandising strategy in order to implement the brand image and identity in stores, to reinforce brand visibility, in line with international guidelines.

Ideal Profile

The ideal profile for this Director of Retail Design role would come from a large fortune 500 company like L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, Shiseido or LVMH.

Job Description

  • Adapt brand spatial concept to local distribution constraints. Implement the merchandising solutions for make-up testers units, free access and POS materials, answering local marketing plan needs
  • Co-undertake the conception, development and follow-up of flagship stores
  • Coordinate the conception, production, delivery and installation of any kind of local specific materials
  • Ensure compliance with technical and legal aspects regarding production norms
  • Recruit, develop and manage his/her team.
  • Ensure development of expertise and know-how and support organisation changes
  • Ensure follow-up of the budget
  • Check company’s internal purchasing process is respected

  • Uplifts brand’s visual identity to build customer centric retail concepts
  • Creates and designs visual concept to animate in a consistant customer path, launches and catalogue
  • Defines & ensures high quality standards

DELIVERS OPERATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION WITH EXCELLENCE

  • Adapts the retail concept according to the distribution channel or customer profile
  • Ensures technical and legal compliance regarding the production
  • Cooperates with 360° internal & external stakeholders to guarantee consistent retail experience
  • Pilotes & Monitors RD’s efficiency in line with timelines and budget

ACT AS A BUSINESS DRIVER

  • Guaranties the ROI of POS in line with business objectives
  • Negotiates with retailers about staging and implementations
  • Monitors POS performance and drives it according to local strategy

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or masters in retail design, interior design, industrial design
  • 7-10 years + experience in design (luxury brand major plus)
  • Project management experience in retail design or merchandising
  • Budget management and vendor management
  • Detail oriented and pragmatic
  • Able to manage operational tasks with strong follow up
  • Team spirit
  • Clear communicator
  • Appreciated previous experience: Clarins, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Kiehl’s, L’Oreal, La Prairie, Creme de La Mer, Parbel, Richemont, Redken, Guerlain, LVMH, Dior, Kenzo, Givenchy, Chanel, Gucci, Lancome, Shiseido, BPI (Beaute Prestige International), Tairo, Essence Corp, Cartier, L’Occitane.
  • Appreciated previous titles: Store Designer, Merchandising Director, Merchandising Manager, Visual Merchandising Director
