With a strong presence across Europe, UK, Middle East, and Asia, they are now poised to penetrate the Americas’ travel market. Their mission is to create, distribute, and manage innovative and convenient travel products that simplify travel design and booking for professional client (travel agencies).
Objective of the Role
The company is seeking an experienced Sales Director who will guide their sales team, establish successful sales strategies, and build mutually beneficial relationships with their clients and partners in North America (US & Canada). This individual will play a crucial role in uplifting the team and brand to new heights.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a leadership role with at least 5+ years of experience focusing on go-to-market strategies, team development, and successful sales. Knowledge in business development for B2B travel tech companies in the region is crucial, as well as networking with travel industry stakeholders such as travel agencies, tour operators, OTAs (Online Travel Agencies), DMCs (Destination Management Companies), and TMCs (Travel Management Companies). The candidate should also have top-notch leadership skills, be competent in API integration, and possess excellent analytical skills. An international mindset, a creative approach, and strong language skills in English, with other languages as a plus, are also highly desirable.
Responsibilities
The Sales Director will have a multi-faceted role involving several responsibilities:
- Actively promoting their international project.
- Developing, implementing, and supporting sales & marketing activities to broaden and strengthen their presence in assigned territories.
- Leading a team of local sales & account managers.
- Planning, monitoring, and analyzing key metrics for day-to-day team performance to ensure targets and KPIs are met.
- Liaising with HQ, Finance, and Marketing departments to ensure operation budgets and proper advertisements meet team goals and attract partners.
- Upholding organizational policies and standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed.
- Contributing to acquiring new customers.
- Maintaining and developing their relationship with key partners in assigned territory.
- Product presentations & networking.
- Positioning the brand within the travel trade.
- Providing market & competitive environment analysis to assist the company in reaching Latin America territory and fueling its growth.
- Providing comprehensive reporting.
Requirements
The role requires a high level of industry knowledge, analytical skills, and experience. The candidate should have:
- Excellent knowledge of the region’s travel market.
- Reliable market contacts within the industry.
- An understanding of tourism and main online booking systems.
- Competence in API integration and technology sales & deals.
- Strong leadership skills and successful team management experience.
- Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills.
- An analytical mind with competency in KPI management, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
- An international mindset with the ability to understand and work in a wide range of cultural contexts.
- Proficiency in English language and willingness for business trips (20 – 30% of working time may be needed for market visits or to attend events).
