Our client is a fully integrated cosmetics manufacturer that manages 100% of its operations in-house, including research and development (R&D) and quality control (QC). They are positioned for significant growth in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector, specifically in the beauty industry, and are dedicated to delivering high-quality products efficiently.
Objective of the Role
The Sr Director of Supply Chain will oversee all facets of the supply chain to ensure optimal finished goods inventory levels, aligning with customer demand in a rapidly expanding environment. This leadership role reports directly to the CEO and is crucial in implementing best practices from larger organizations while fostering an entrepreneurial spirit within the company.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded background in supply chain management coupled with proven leadership capabilities. They should have a robust understanding of procurement, demand planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and production scheduling. Experience in the beauty, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical industries is highly preferred, and candidates should demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset proven by their ability to contribute to the growth of a smaller organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead procurement, ensuring effective supplier assessment and management of raw materials and quality control processes.
- Enhance inventory controls and improve accuracy across all inventory types.
- Collaborate with marketing and R&D to develop and improve packaging as well as fulfillment capabilities.
- Manage demand planning and production scheduling, integrating data into the ERP system for streamlined processes.
- Oversee bulk manufacturing, bottling, and kitting operations, supporting production managers and ensuring compliance with cGMP standards.
- Ensure that quality control meets regulatory requirements while optimizing operational efficiency.
- Enhance fulfillment processes to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Develop the skills and growth of the supply chain team through coaching and mentoring practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years of experience in a senior supply chain management role within a multi-channel CPG environment.
- Direct manufacturing experience is a must, with a focus on scheduling, MRP, and production planning.
- Experience in the beauty or CPG sector is essential; background in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries may be relevant.
- Familiarity with mid-size company ERPs such as Syspro or Netsuite.
- Hands-on experience in creating and implementing supply chain processes in fast-paced entrepreneurial settings.
- Avalid bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced certifications in supply chain management preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Chandler 5 days a week.
