Objective of the Role
The Watchmaker will play a pivotal role in the product development lifecycle, encompassing the review of new product designs, offering technical insights on production challenges, assisting with sample builds, and providing essential support to the repair team. This position is central to aligning overseas partners with design and manufacturing teams, and involves participation in innovative projects related to new watch designs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience in the watchmaking industry at the brand level, complemented by a watchmaking certification.
- A strong understanding of industry norms, innovative practices, and a passion for craftsmanship.
- Ability to engage collaboratively across design, product development, and manufacturing functions.
Responsibilities
- Review and assess new product designs while providing technical assessments and feedback for optimization.
- Conduct sample builds to evaluate manufacturability and quality, contributing insights for production enhancement.
- Support the repair team with technical expertise on mechanical movements.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects and assist in root cause analysis of production issues.
- Collaborate with design and product development teams to ensure alignment on project goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the watchmaking field, preferably with brand-level exposure.
- Certification in watchmaking is required.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
