Established in 1983, the group offers strategic, creative, and operational solutions tailored to the needs of the retail industry. Present in 45 countries across 4 continents, their travel retail division, active in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, provides consultancy and creative solutions to airport operators, retailers, and brands, with a significant presence in Singapore.
Objective of the Role
Our client is seeking an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to serve as the ambassador for their travel retail services in the Asia region or on a global scale. The role focuses on expanding the business by managing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring the seamless delivery of projects. This individual will act as a key contact for client hubs and align closely with various business units within the group.

The ideal candidate will come with one of the following experience:
- Brands (suppliers), in travel retail marketing and merchandising departments
- Marketing and merchandising Agencies
- Merchandising or Marketing or category management department of duty-free operators
Responsibilities
- Represent our client’s travel retail service offerings to customers and prospects in Asia or globally.
- Serve as an extension of the travel retail business units within the group and as the daily contact for client hubs.
- Manage and coordinate the development of existing accounts in the region, ensuring project timelines and resources are effectively managed.
- Identify and report new business opportunities to the relevant business units.
- Foster a reputation of trust, pride, passion, collaboration, and constructive challenge within the team.
- Interact and influence all levels of client and supplier stakeholders, developing long-term, trusting relationships.
- Oversee operational functions and manage multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered effectively.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the Asia market and travel retail industry.
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager, Account Manager, or in a similar role.
- Experience in consulting, creative, branding, or merchandising agencies, or in collaborating with such agencies.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Mandarin is a significant advantage.
- Exceptional time management and planning skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to record and manage information meticulously.
- Commercially minded with confidence and the ability to multi-task autonomously.
Reporting Structure
The Business Development Manager will report to the head of the travel retail division. Their activities will be coordinated with regional managers during weekly workshops. Qualitative and commercial objectives will be planned and assessed quarterly.
