Objective of the Role
The Vice President, Sales (US & International) will oversee and drive sales strategy across all channels of distribution, leading a dynamic team to grow revenue, profitability, and market share. This individual will be responsible for delivering actionable plans, nurturing key customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities in alignment with the company’s objectives. This role is pivotal in shaping the company’s sales vision, ensuring success across the US market and key international regions, including Canada, Latin America, and Travel Retail.
Ideal Profile
- Industry Expertise: Experience in the fragrance or beauty industry, with a strong understanding of the US market and major retail channels. Experience in international sales is a plus but not required.
- Retail Experience: Familiarity with selling to US department stores is a significant advantage.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage high-performing sales teams.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30-40%.
Responsibilities
- P&L Oversight: Direct and manage the regional P&L for US and international markets.
- Sales Leadership: Lead a team of 7 direct reports (30+ indirect), fostering a high-performance culture through mentorship, coaching, and motivation.
- Channel Strategy: Develop and implement tailored sales strategies for department stores, off-price retailers, food/drug/mass retailers, e-commerce (including Amazon and TikTok), distributors, and Travel Retail.
- Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and e-commerce partners to drive sales growth.
- Market Analysis: Monitor sales performance and market trends, adjusting strategies to meet evolving demands.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, product, and trade marketing teams to execute programs and maximize brand potential.
- CRM and Data Management: Ensure the effective use of CRM tools to analyze sales performance and inform decision-making.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of sales management experience in the fragrance or beauty industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to lead, motivate, and manage sales teams.
- Strategic Vision: Expertise in developing and executing sales strategies aligned with broader business goals.
- Analytical Capability: Strong ability to interpret sales data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions.
