Objective of the Role

The VP of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for managing and growing the company’s existing business while identifying new opportunities, markets, and innovative sales strategies. This leader will drive revenue growth by developing and executing a commercial strategy that strengthens relationships with existing customers and expands the company’s footprint. While an external agency handles day-to-day marketing operations, the VP will provide strategic oversight to ensure marketing efforts align with sales objectives and long-term business goals.

  • A results-driven commercial leader with a proven track record in sales and business development within the food industry.
  • Strong strategic vision with the ability to balance managing current operations while exploring new market opportunities.
  • Experience working with foodservice, retail, and distribution channels, with a deep understanding of industry trends and customer needs.

  • Adept at working with external marketing agencies to ensure brand positioning and promotional efforts align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and business development strategy to drive revenue growth across existing and new markets.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing foodservice and retail customers while identifying new accounts and distribution opportunities.
  • Explore and implement new approaches to market expansion, including alternative sales channels, partnerships, and product positioning strategies.
  • Oversee and optimize sales operations, ensuring the team meets and exceeds revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with the external marketing agency to ensure marketing strategies effectively support sales initiatives and overall business growth.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with leadership to align sales and marketing efforts with broader company goals and financial targets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in sales and marketing leadership, preferably in the food or consumer goods industry.
  • Proven ability to drive business growth in both foodservice and retail environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to execute initiatives that deliver measurable results.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience building and mentoring high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience managing external marketing partners and aligning marketing efforts with sales objectives.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
