Our Client

Our client for this Americas Sales Director position is a European beauty company focused primarily on haircare. They have an office in the US distributing their most technical brands to hair salons. For the rest of the Americas use distributors to sell their entire portfolio of brands via professional and retail channels.

Objective

The Sales Director is responsible for shaping a strong and profitable business in the Americas Region (North America, Central and LATAM) through a close partnership with the targeted customers, implementing commercial activities in the area aligned with the overall company and brands strategy in order to obtain
and exceed the assigned targets (Net Sales, Gross Margin, Profitability). The Sales Director drives commercial strategies and plans for all brands portfolio both in the Professional and Trade Channels, through a coordination of existing sales team (both agents and sales reps) in the territory.

Ideal Profile

The ideal profile is a beauty executive with distributor management experience and speaking fluent Spanish. Previous experience in haircare is a plus, but not a must.

Responsibilities

  • Competitor and market analysis in the Americas (other Companies presence in the market, their positioning, pricing policies and innovation level);
  • Develop the business expansion aligned with the current brands strategy, while creating a sustainable and profitable sales strategy which supports the brand growth in the Area;
  • Manage the customers portfolio and evaluate, together with the Head of International Sales, customers future potential in order to optimize investments in the Area;
  • Constantly evaluate customer performance and scouting of potential new customers & distributors in existing markets, with additional focus of finding new customers in not covered territories.
  • Implement new product lines and sub-brands, present promotions for existing lines as well as creating bespoke promotions to meet market specific needs.
  • Support the customers and their distribution network with education to secure excellence in product performance in the market, in collaboration with the Education department of the related brand in HQ.
  • Responsible for analyzing sales results and profitability by customer on a monthly basis, with accurate forecast and sales plans.
  • Coordinating and developing the sales team, with constantly coaching the reps and pushing the to reach their targets;
  • Implement the pricing and discount strategy of the brand in the markets.
  • Be open to customer needs and evaluate them in relation to performance and return on investment, to ensure profitability. Collaborate with other company departments to obtain best results for these market specific requests.
  • Align with HQ in order to correctly manage the customers portfolio, orders, payments and the shipping process;
  • Attend the main exhibitions in the hair & skin care industry.

Requirements

  • Experience of at least 10/12 years in Sales Management/Sales Development role, preferably in the
  • Beauty/Cosmetic/Haircare Industry;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel;
  • SAP knowledge would be a plus;
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Great presentation skills;
  • Impressive negotiation skills;
  • Agile and proactive;
  • Ability to manage a team remotely;
  • Accountability and Leadership.
