Job Description

 Our Client

Our client for this position is a Wine & Spirits distributor working with some of the most prestigious liquor, champagne and wine brands in Travel Retail and South American local markets.


The Area Sales Manager will be in charge of developing several spirits and wine brands with South American local markets (excluding Brazil) and North American Travel Retail accounts.

Ideal Profile

The ideal profile is a dynamic entrepreneurial well rounded and experienced sales professional with personal interest and/or previous background in Wine & Spirits. Ideally this person will have previous experience working with the South America markets. Very Open to travel. A previous experience with large groups like Diageo, Bacardi or Pernod Ricard is not necessary. Actually smaller brands would be preferable.

Job Description

  • Forecast sales by brand and by territory
  • Travel and meet with customers
  • Budgeting and Planning
  • Negotiate prices, quantity and spaces in POS
  • Advise clients on how to spend their marketing budget
  • Manage own P&L on the territory assigned
  • Visit points of sales
  • Make sure the marketing plan and the merchandising is properly implemented
  • Train the sales staff
  • Coordinate promotional events and launches
  • Control inventory
  • Watch competition and market trends


  • Bachelor Degree minimum (MBA a plus)
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in the luxury or consumer goods industries, Latin America local markets or travel retail (Perfumes, fragrances, watches, timepieces, jewelry, fashion, apparel, food & beverage, wine & spirits, consumer electronics, etc…)
  • Bilingual English and Spanish (French and/or Portuguese a plus)
  • Good commercial and human skills. Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent with MS Office, Excel in particular
  • VERY open to Travel
  • Familiar with multicultural and international environment
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Perfect presentation and communication skills
  • Appreciated previous experience: Bacardi, Diageo, Moet Hennessy, Pernod Ricard, The Edrington Group, Patron, Southern Wines & Spirits
  • Appreciated previous titles: Area Sales Manager, Area Export Manager, Area Manager, Account Executive, Business Development Manager, Territory Manager
