Our Client

Our client for this Global Procurement Director  opportunity is a  very fast growing, high-pace consumer goods company with manufacturing partners in China and selling across the globe.

Objective

The Global Procurement Director is responsible for all global Sourcing, Procurement, Purchasing and vendor management to improve service performance and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for global Sourcing and Procurement activities
  • Develop global Sourcing, Procurement and Planning operations goals and objectives
  • Develop and drive Procurement transformation initiatives inside and outside the United States
  • Measure and track Key Performance Indicators, identify root causes of inefficiencies and create timely countermeasures as well as permanent corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Identify, manage, and respond to any domestic and regional-specific supplier requirements.
  • Primary negotiator and contracts reviewer for all sourcing activities to direct spend, MRO and Services.
  • Develop, encourage and ensure adherence to all global and regional-specific policies and contracts
  • Identify critical success factors and engage with the business units to ensure execution of efficient and effective supplier sourcing and contracting activities
  • Assist the business unit stakeholders with the creation and communication of savings targets
  • Support engagement owners and users in the region to address performance issues and risk events.
  • Develop the reporting and data analysis on sales and operations activities; measures and tracks the value that is delivered to the business units.
  • Optimize supplier relationships by understanding the terms & pricing of supplier contracts, defining buying channels and ensuring compliance to purchasing policies.
  • Facilitate the effective management & execution of sales and operations activities across the enterprise via education on appropriate buying channels, policies & processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering or Finance
  • MBA/MS a plus
  • At least 15 years of experience in Sourcing and Procurement, including 5 years globally.
  • CPG experience is a must
  • Project Management and new product development experience
  • Executive level presentations that have complex financial analytics
  • Ability to interact and influence C-suite and other leadership
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills in a team environment
  • Excellent complex negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, communication and influencing skills
  • Strategic Procurement Relationships
  • Extensive Sourcing and Procurement Process Improvement experience
  • Experience in supplier contract best practices
