Job Description
Our Client
Our client for this Operations Manager is a very fast paced provider of perishable products to supermarkets and other retail chains (packaging supplier to the flower industry)
Objective
The Operations Manager will have to optimize the overall operations all US Operations, including warehousing, sample room and 3PLs, inbound- and outbound. Actively engage in finding improvements to improve service and manage cost.
Ideal Profile
We need a supply chain and logistics professional, used to very fast paced environments (flower industry or other perishable products and with the experience of setting up processes.
Operations Manager Job Description
- Strategize and implement distribution model (transport and 3PL warehousing) for North America to satisfy the company’s fulfillment needs.
- Ensure best in class operation strategy for Miami warehouse
- Negotiate, Contract and periodically evaluate international air, ocean, land and drayage carriers, local brokers agents and package courier
- Ensure best in class operation strategy for sample room department
- Negotiate, Contract and periodically evaluate international air, ocean, land and drayage carriers, local brokers agents and package courier
- Ensure best in class operation strategy for inbound logistics
- Ensure best in class operation strategy for Miami warehouse
- LMA North American Fulfillment and Logistics teams and overall operations
- Lead management of safety policies in Miami facility
- Liaise with other departments
- Manage the Customer creation process
- Lead WMS Implementation for US
- Inbound strategy defined (3-year picture)
- Overall safety of the MIA WHSE facility
Requirements
- Experience in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Operations, Management, WMS (preferred), Business in China (preferred),
Analytical Skills (Advanced Microsoft Excel) - Bachelor Degree in supply chain or related topics
- 5 to 7 years relevant experience
- Business oriented, Effective communication, Building Relationships, Managing Processes, Developing Budgets.
- Effective at supply chain management
- Strong initiative & leadership
- Knowledge of the food industry could be a plus
- Appreciated previous titles: Logistics Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Import Manager
