Job Description
Company Description
Our client is a newly established skincare startup based in France, 100% funded by a publicly listed pharmaceutical company from Japan. Leveraging cutting-edge research in regenerative medicine and backed by the resources of their parent company, they are poised to disrupt the European skincare market. Initially launching in a small test market, they aim to expand rapidly across larger European markets. With a focus on scientifically advanced and highly effective skincare solutions, this startup is committed to delivering innovative products to the beauty industry.
Objective of the Role
The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the company’s market entry and sales strategy, starting in a test market and scaling across Europe. The successful candidate will develop and execute sales plans, build relationships with key partners in the beauty and skincare sectors, and manage product distribution logistics. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in France, close to an airport or major train station, with frequent travel expected.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate will have experience in the skincare, beauty, or pharmaceutical industries and be comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment. They will possess strong entrepreneurial skills, the ability to work independently, and the drive to lead market entry efforts. A proven track record in sales strategy development and the ability to manage complex distribution logistics are essential. Experience working with B2B partners in the beauty or skincare industry, coupled with fluency in English, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a phased sales strategy, starting with a small test market in Europe and expanding into larger European markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as beauty clinics, medi-spas, aesthetic salons, and other professional B2B partners.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align brand strategy, identify promotional opportunities, and attend relevant industry events.
- Oversee product distribution logistics, including import/export processes, order management, and financial operations (AP/AR).
- Analyze market trends and sales data, providing insights and strategic recommendations to improve market positioning and drive growth.
Requirements
- Strong background in sales or business development within the skincare, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Understanding of European distribution channels and the ability to manage logistics effectively.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with industry professionals, including beauty and medical professionals.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel frequently for business across Europe.
- Appreciated previous experience: Allergan, Galderma, FillMed, Merz, Teoxane, Lumenis, Neauvia, BTL, Croma, Fotona, Jutema, Toskanimed, Dermapen, Skinceuticals, Bioderma, La Roche-Posay, Avène, or other medical aesthetic ingredient/manufacturing companies are highly desirable.
