Job Description

Our Client

Our client for this Sr Manager of External Affairs/Relations role is an international Travel Retailer with an office in Miami for the Americas and managing stores in Airports and on Cruise Ships.

Objective

The Sr. Manager, External Relations is the driving force behind generating new partnership opportunities, sales/retail leads, industry contacts and building the brand. This person proactively creates the corporate identity of the brand through locating, defining, negotiating, developing and assists in finalizing business relationships

Job Description

  • Serves as the ambassador for the company and works to create, progress and advance the brand throughout the Americas
  • Develops cooperative relationships with industry contacts, public officials and investors to maintain the company’s reputation, while paving the way for future business partnerships and opportunities
  • Serves as liaison and informational contact between the company and external industry relationships including joint ventures, advocacy organizations and political partners. Reports on progress to Line-Manager and internal Management team
  • Serves as principal interface between the company and professional organizations by attending industry trade fares (i.e. ARN, ACI, IAADFS, Asutil, etc.)
  • Establishes and maintains a strong, collaborative, and coordinated relationship with cross-functional business partners and/or team members throughout the company’s network
  • Monitors competition whilst reviewing the company’s offering in light of competitive developments
  • Enhances the company’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or relevant degree/commensurate years of experience
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience working in a senior external relations role within sales/related industry
  • Proven track record of generating new business and achieving revenue growth
  • Experience analyzing and creating analytical reports
  • Travel, at times, could be extensive (50% or more)
  • Superb interpersonal skills and proven effectiveness in negotiation
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to connect with clients of varying cultures externally, and internally across the company with all levels of management and employees
  • Superior presentation skills (both with technical expertise – e.g. PowerPoint and in delivery)
  • Excellent leadership, motivation and mentorship abilities
  • Exceptional ability to counsel and provide decision support to senior leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in analyzing information and solving problems
