Objective of the Role
The US/Global Business Development Executive will be pivotal in driving business growth within the automotive department. This role is tailored for a dynamic professional who possesses a robust network of high-net-worth individuals, particularly those passionate about classic, modern, and contemporary collector cars.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development within luxury sectors, particularly in auction houses or high-end automotive retail. They should possess extensive connections with car enthusiasts and collectors, ensuring the company’s continued success in a competitive landscape.
Responsibilities
- Prospect new business opportunities from a network of clients and dealers to achieve annual sales targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with buyers and sellers to foster repeat business.
- Manage the appraisal process and assist in preparing consignments for auction.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department on strategies to enhance business growth.
- Attend and support motoring events to increase department visibility and sales.
- Conduct research to accurately catalog property for auction.
- Contribute to developing and editing auction catalogues prior to printing.
- Assist with global sales meetings, requiring travel within the US and internationally.
- Remain informed of competitor strategies and market dynamics.
- Support junior specialists, fostering their development and market knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of collector cars and their markets.
- Proven specialist expertise in the luxury auction space is preferred.
- Established network of high-net-worth car collectors with a history of sustainable relationship growth.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Organized, adaptable, and proactive in business development efforts.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with a hands-on approach.
- Strong business acumen and valuation skills are advantageous.
- Familiarity with the auction process and related procedures is beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines and sales targets.
