Our client is a distinguished furniture retailer located in Brooklyn, NY, known for their superior quality products and commitment to customer service excellence. Their Ecommerce activity has become their #1 source of revenue and they need someone to take it to the next level.
Objective of the Role
The Vice President of Ecommerce will lead the overall direction and management of our client’s online presence and operations. This role entails not only supervising ecommerce operations, but also navigating relationships with furniture suppliers and technical and logistics vendors. The VP of Ecommerce will be instrumental in enhancing our client’s ecommerce platforms, expanding their digital footprint, and driving revenue growth.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate for this role should be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of ecommerce operations and technologies. They should be well-versed in web technologies (including Magento and Mailchimp ideally), and have strong experience in Google Adwords, SEO, email marketing, and social media. The candidate must have a strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets or a P&L, ensuring the most efficient use of resources. Finally, they must be adept at managing relationships with multiple stakeholders, from furniture suppliers to technical and logistics vendors.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the company’s ecommerce platforms, including logistics and fulfillment.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive ecommerce strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with furniture suppliers, technical, and logistics vendors.
- Manage and optimize online marketing campaigns across various channels, including Google AdWords, SEO, email marketing, and social media.
- Direct the management of the company’s ecommerce P&L or budget, identifying areas of cost optimization and revenue opportunities.
- Leverage data to drive decision making, track performance metrics, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve user experience on the company’s ecommerce platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role within ecommerce.
- Deep understanding of web technologies (Magento and Mailchimp would be a strong plus)
- Proficiency in Google AdWords, SEO, email marketing, and social media.
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
- Excellent supplier and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and experience in reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to navigate a rapidly changing ecommerce environment and adapt strategy accordingly.
