Job Description

Our Client

Our client for this Brand President opportunity is an established fine jewelry group with both a traditional wholesale process and a very innovative and digital approach.

Objective

The President position will be a highly entrepreneurial and collaborative role reporting to the CEO of the group with responsibility for all functions including but not limited to design, production, merchandising, planning, inventory management, sales and marketing, systems and logistics, e-commerce and livestreaming DTC businesses, division budgets and implementation of corporate strategies to meet or exceed the company goals. This person will supervise a dedicated team of 16 employees and communicate with key corporate functional leaders linking the jewelry division to the corporate finance and other corporate support functions and departments to drive profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an annual comprehensive business plan to execute a strategy for growth and profitability of the brand
  • Drive the business while maintaining the overall corporate culture, vision and mission
  • Manage financial budget to meet financial goals and objectives of the company
  • Develop a distribution and sales strategy to increase sales reach into new markets and customers to drive wholesale, Interactive TV and DTC e-commerce and livestreaming businesses
  • Enhance systems infrastructure to support growth, and where necessary recruit and train team members
  • Direct the product merchandise strategy including product development planning and inventory management
  • Direct multi-channel marketing strategy
  • Direct omni-channel inventory strategy
  • Lead the team across all business functions

Key Deliverables

Leadership

  • Lead all functional business areas
  • Mentor, train and educate team
  • Develop and maintain existing relationships with all key retail and vendor partners

Marketing

  • Develop plans that work cohesively with all channels of distribution and products to maintain the brand identity including working with e-commerce team to drive ROI on marketing investments in digital advertising

Operations

  • Evolve systems and operational plans to drive efficiency
  • Evolve communication protocols and cross functional department calendars
  • Enhance methods of control and business metrics for success
  • Oversee all IT systems i.e. ERP/PLM, warehouse management, e-comm, CRM, customer loyalty programs, etc.

Product Development, Sourcing and Logistics

  • Maximize efficiency, maintain relationships with senior members of all vendors

Merchandising

  • Bring 2-3 new collections per year to market. Work with design team to identify points of inspiration and sources of trends and competitive analysis

Sales

  • Maintain sales goals across all channels with existing accounts and drive new customer sales
  • Drive DTC e-commerce and live streaming sales
  • Maintain relationships with all retail partners

Requirements

  • Proven entrepreneurial leader with 15+ years of experience; possess professional maturity, industry credibility and a proven track record of success achieving growth and overseeing brand development
  • BA or BS is required.  MBA is preferred
  • Must have strong analytics, planning, and management skills for wholesale, retail and DTC e-commerce in fine jewelry industry
  • Must have strong analytical ability to assess complex situations and exceptional creativity to provide solutions with an open mind to do things differently, thinking completely out the box when necessary
  • Must be a proactive and anticipatory merchant and marketer who considers customer preferences while balancing the overall brand aesthetic and achievement of the desired financial objectives
  • Highly collaborative partner and inspiring leader who can communicate effectively with the team, key corporate functional leaders and retail and vendor partners
  • Must possess best-in-class merchandising skills and well-rounded marketing acumen including functional experience in assortment planning, buying, product development, trend, pricing, product lifecycle management and digital marketing
  • Strong entrepreneurial leader and merchant marketer that balances financial acumen, excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with creativity and passion for product with a commercial eye
  • Must have strong ability to understand consumer needs, market trends and what is happening in the zeitgeist
