Objective of the Role

The Sales Director will spearhead the sales department, focusing on maximizing revenue growth and expanding the company’s market share. The right candidate will be expecting for focus 80% of their time on new business development, with easier short term goals with gifts and sports accounts, while working longer term on large national key accounts like Walmart, Bass Pro, Publix…

Ideal Profile

This role requires an individual with a robust background in new business development, ideally within the eyewear industry (not a strict requirement), complemented by a strategic vision to cultivate and implement impactful sales initiatives. They must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing, with an MBA being a distinct advantage. The Sales Director should demonstrate a history of surpassing sales targets and have a knack for strategic planning, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in using CRM and sales analysis tools.


  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Craft and execute a sales strategy that aligns with company objectives, and scout for new market opportunities.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage and inspire the sales team to achieve performance goals, providing continuous training and feedback.
  • Client Relationship Management: Sustain and grow relationships with key partners and coordinate with marketing for unified branding and sales efforts.
  • Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends and competitor strategies to adapt and inform sales tactics.
  • Sales Operations and Reporting: Manage sales forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics, reporting outcomes to the executive team.
  • Product Knowledge and Training: Maintain in-depth knowledge of the product range and ensure the sales team is well-informed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Promote collaboration with other departments and communicate effectively with internal teams to drive sales initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • At least 5-7 year of business development experience, ideally in eyewear whether sunglasses or OTC optical, if not with other accessories targeting similar accounts (big bix retailers, gift shops, sporting goods…).
  • A consistent track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software and various sales tools.
